Formula

1 psi=6.895 kPa=27.68 inH2O1\ \mathrm{psi} = 6.895\ \mathrm{kPa} = 27.68\ \mathrm{inH_2O} Pabs=Pgauge+PatmP_{\text{abs}} = P_{\text{gauge}} + P_{\text{atm}} Patm≈14.7 psi=101.3 kPaP_{\text{atm}} \approx 14.7\ \mathrm{psi} = 101.3\ \mathrm{kPa}

Common values

psig is gauge pressure, measured from the surrounding atmosphere, and psia is absolute pressure: psia = psig + atmospheric pressure (about 14.7 psi at sea level). This converter changes units only; it does not add or remove atmospheric pressure.

Inches of water is common for fan and duct static pressure. It assumes water at 4 °C (39.2 °F); tables based on 60 °F water differ by about 0.1%.
